About The Position
GPM is hiring a diesel mechanic to repair and maintain its private fleet, including tractors and tankers. Starting pay is $35–$38 per hour, based on experience, and the position offers a $5,000 sign-on bonus. The mechanic must be willing to participate in an on-call rotation. Employment offers are contingent on successful completion of a background check. Candidates may also be required to undergo drug screening under company policy and applicable law. Requirements
- Some knowledge of DOT safety regulations.
- Must have own tools.
- Must be willing to participate in an on-call rotation.
Nice To Haves
- Tanker experience is helpful but not required.
- Knowledge of computer diagnostics is preferred.
- Tanker experience with Mack and Freightliner vehicles is preferred.
- Welding experience is helpful but not required.
Responsibilities
- Repair and replace defective parts, components, or systems.
- Interpret work orders and technical manuals.
- Test and repair equipment to ensure proper performance and compliance with manufacturer regulations.
- Repair emergency breakdowns.
