About The Position

Swift Transportation is hiring a Diesel Fleet Mechanic to perform preventive maintenance, inspections, troubleshooting, and repairs on company-owned fleet equipment. Equipment includes tractors, trailers, refrigerated units, and support equipment. The role is based at 2201 SW 57th Ave, Ocala, Florida, and works Tuesday through Saturday, 6:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Pay is $22.00–$33.00 per hour. Swift offers hands-on OEM training and ongoing opportunities for growth and career advancement.

Requirements

• High school education or a combination of training and experience.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Demonstrated customer service skills.
• Ability to read and understand repair manuals and complete tags and repair orders.
• Ability to use and learn diagnostic software for tractors and trailers.
• Computer skills.

Nice To Haves

• Knowledge of vehicle systems and basic vehicle maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Complete quality preventive maintenance inspections and repairs on company-owned tractors, trailers, refrigerated units, and support equipment.
• Perform preventive maintenance according to applicable OEM, DOT, Swift, and other appropriate specifications.
• Inspect, analyze, troubleshoot, diagnose, and perform minor or complex repairs on equipment.
• Disassemble, repair, and reassemble heavy truck and trailer components.
• Perform tire maintenance, including repairs, failure analysis, coding, and identification.
