About The Position

Mission Linen Supply has an immediate opening for a Diesel/Fleet Mechanic at its facility. The mechanic performs preventive and corrective maintenance on fleet vehicles and equipment, including vehicles with gas and diesel engines, hydraulic systems, and air brakes. The role includes inspecting, diagnosing, and repairing commercial vehicle systems and mechanisms, and ensuring that vehicles meet operational and safety standards. Pay is $22.00–$30.00 per hour. Starting pay depends on education, experience, other qualifications, and assignment location. Nice To Haves

Diesel and Ford product experience is helpful but not necessary.
Prior auto shop experience or trade school is preferred.

Responsibilities

Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on fleet vehicles and equipment, including gas and diesel engines, hydraulic systems, and air brakes.
Inspect, diagnose, and repair systems and mechanisms on commercial vehicles.
Ensure vehicles meet operational and safety standards.
Perform routine maintenance, such as changing oil, checking batteries, and lubricating equipment and machinery.
Inspect, test, and listen to defective equipment to diagnose malfunctions.
Operate tools and mechanisms associated with automotive repair.
Evaluate and recommend alternative methods for vehicle preventive maintenance to support an effective and efficient return on investment.
Follow an effective preventive maintenance program for company vehicles.
