This position focuses on maintaining, repairing, and inspecting a wide range of vehicles and equipment used by the agency. The work supports safe operations and dependable performance across the fleet. As a Diesel and Construction Equipment Mechanic, you will perform the following duties: Equipment Repair: Repair vehicles, equipment, and major parts such as brakes, clutches, and transmissions Preventative Work: Carry out routine maintenance tasks including tune ups, tire changes, and system adjustments State Inspections: Complete safety and emissions inspections, apply stickers, and record inspection results Diagnostics: Identify problems using diagnostic tools and select correct procedures and parts for repairs Small Equipment Care: Maintain and repair motorized hand tools including chain saws, compressors, and trimmers Safety Practices: Keep work areas safe, report hazards, and take steps to prevent injuries.
