About The Position

Hydro Extrusions is hiring a Die Repair Set-Up employee in Portland. The role supports extrusion press operations by preparing and moving tooling, handling used dies through cleaning processes, and transporting cleaned dies to the repair shop. The work involves manipulating steel weighing 50–75 pounds through pulling, pushing, and lifting. Starting pay is $20 per hour, with an additional $1 per hour shift differential for applicable shifts.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
Mechanical aptitude and ability to work with precision tooling.
Ability to read and follow work instructions, production schedules, and setup documentation.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
Ability to work safely in a manufacturing environment.

Nice To Haves

Experience in aluminum extrusion, die shop operations, or industrial manufacturing.
Experience operating overhead cranes, forklifts, and lifting devices.
Knowledge of extrusion dies, tooling assembly, and die handling practices.
Experience using measuring tools such as calipers and micrometers.

Responsibilities

Pull the correct tooling for press schedules and deliver it to the correct press or location.
Remove used tooling from presses and separate it for caustic cleaning or storage.
Load used tooling into boil-out tanks.
Remove boiled-out tooling from caustic tanks, then rinse and dry it.
Shot blast dies after caustic cleaning and transport them to the die repair shop.
Pull, push, and lift steel weighing 50–75 pounds.
Perform other duties as assigned.
