About The Position

The Die Repair Technician supports the Die Shop by reviewing product die prints and specifications, communicating machining requirements for setups, repairing and assembling dies, and verifying dimensions. The role also supports new die planning and setup, die ordering processes, and press die scheduling. The technician must follow lockout/tagout procedures and understand applicable work and safety instructions.

Requirements

• Ability to understand and deliver basic commands in English.
• Ability to read and understand work and safety instructions relevant to the position.
• Ability to use and maintain basic tools and measuring equipment relevant to the position.
• Above-average math skills.
• Ability to interpret blueprints.
• Good understanding of metal tolerances.

Responsibilities

• Comply with lockout/tagout procedures.
• Study product die prints and review die specifications.
• Read and understand Die Shop work instructions.
• Provide machining specifications to machinists for setups.
• Grind, file, and sand parts.
• Assemble dies and verify dimensions.
• Perform die repairs as needed.
• Decide which press and layout to use and how many holes to include on new dies.
• Understand the process for ordering dies.
• Create and set up new dies in LPL and create a folder.
• Develop press die schedules for all presses.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
