About The Position

MI Metals is seeking two Die Chasers to join their manufacturing team. This role involves the careful handling and preparation of dies used in production. The Die Chaser will be responsible for cutting off excess aluminum, breaking down dies, transporting them to and from the caustic cleaning area, and managing die lists. This position requires adherence to all company policies, safety guidelines, and quality standards, along with the ability to work at a consistent pace in a demanding manufacturing environment.

Requirements

  • Frequent standing, walking, and reaching with hands and arms
  • Use of hands to handle tools, dies, and small parts
  • Stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling as needed during die work
  • Lifting up to 50lbs. regularly; up to 100lbs. with forklift or team assistance
  • Visual acuity for close-up die inspection
  • Hearing sufficient to work safely in a noisy environment
  • Safety glasses
  • Ear plugs or earmuffs (as required)
  • Long pants
  • Steel-toed shoes with metatarsal guards

Responsibilities

  • Adhere to all policies, procedures, rules, quality and customer service standards set forth by the company.
  • Identify safety hazards in the workplace and report them to management.
  • Comply to all safety guidelines put into place by MI Metals.
  • Coordinate die care and transport to service presses.
  • Cut off remaining aluminum from die, then break die down using die press.
  • Load dies up on two-wheeler & take to caustic area, then load dies in basket to be put in caustic.
  • Load dies, then retrieve & bring pulled dies to shop and completed dies to polish rack.
  • Retrieve die list for both press’ and stage them.
  • Always reference Die Chaser reference sheet and complete necessary log(s) accurately.
  • Maintain a heavy lifting and consistent work pace.
