About The Position

THA's Maintenance Specialists help create safe, welcoming, and well-maintained communities for residents. In this role, you'll play an essential part in ensuring homes are functional, comfortable, and cared for - responding to maintenance needs with strong technical and customer service skills. The work calls for reliability, strong troubleshooting ability, efficient task prioritization, and consistent execution, with a commitment to safety and quality. If you bring solid maintenance expertise and a practical, solutions-focused approach, the Maintenance Specialist role offers the opportunity to directly support property operations and resident stability.

Requirements

  • A high school diploma or GED (technical/trade school maintenance program and certification preferred).
  • 5+ years of related building maintenance experience.
  • Landscaping experience required; advanced landscaping knowledge is a plus.
  • Knowledge of safe work practices and the ability to use various hand and power tools and other equipment safely and effectively.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to interact respectfully and effectively with diverse individuals.
  • A valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
  • Availability for on-call shifts and after-hours emergencies.

Nice To Haves

  • technical/trade school maintenance program and certification preferred
  • advanced landscaping knowledge is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshooting and repairing mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and appliance issues.
  • Performing basic repairs in plumbing, electrical, drywall, carpentry, painting, and heating.
  • Conducting general maintenance, custodial services, and landscaping services for turn over and lease up, event prep, and other activities.
  • Coordinating workload with property management staff and completing work orders promptly.
  • Maintaining inventory control over equipment and supplies.
  • Accompanying staff and outside personnel during inspections and treatments.
  • Identifying and addressing potential hazards and safety concerns.
