About The Position

In this position, you’ll provide supportive services that help residents thrive as tenants, neighbors, parents, students, and wage earners. The Community Advocate role is perfect for someone passionate about social justice, community engagement, and empowering people to achieve stability and independence.

Requirements

  • An Associate’s degree in social services, a related field (Bachelor’s preferred) or equivalent experience.
  • 2 years of case management and 3+ years of direct client service experience, with specialization/skill in mental health, chemical dependency, crisis intervention, age/long-term care services planning, and community resource navigation.
  • Strong communicator with excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Flexible and adaptable; ability to thrive in dynamic environments and manage multiple priorities.
  • Practice self-care, resilience, and empathy to sustain your work and relationships.
  • Deep commitment to building community and supporting families in meaningful ways.
  • Maintain a constant curiosity about what works in the community, always seeking new resources and approaches to help clients succeed.
  • Experienced in working with diverse populations, demonstrating cultural competence and respect.

Nice To Haves

  • Bonus points if you speak a 2nd language, such as Cambodian, Vietnamese, Russian, Spanish, or Korean.

Responsibilities

  • Manage a caseload and provide family-centered coaching to help clients set and achieve goals; additional supports needed.
  • Deliver housing stabilization services to prevent eviction and promote successful tenancy; identify housing needs and coordinate with providers; and assist clients with lease compliance issues.
  • Connect and support clients regarding community resources, pro-social activities, and family self-sufficiency, education, employment, and asset building programs and opportunities.
  • Track outcomes and maintain accurate records for reporting and compliance.
  • Collaborate with THA teams and community partners to coordinate services.
