DaVita is hiring a Dialysis Technician (PCT) to provide patient care at its Canton Dialysis Center in Canton, Ohio. The role includes paid classroom and hands-on training, which may take place at a facility or training clinic rather than the assigned home clinic. Teammates typically work 32–40 hours per week during training; hours may vary during that period. Shifts are generally 3–4 days per week, include at least two Saturdays per month, and may start as early as 3:00 a.m. Schedules may vary according to patient needs, and teammates must be available for mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays. The job may also require working across multiple clinics in the territory. The PCT provides mostly direct, one-on-one care, supporting safe, comfortable, and hygienic dialysis treatment for patients with end-stage renal disease. PCTs may care for up to 4–5 patients at a time and help build long-term relationships with patients who typically receive treatment three times per week. The role includes monitoring patients before, during, and after treatment; measuring and recording vital statistics and observations; setting up hemodialysis machines; and preparing and testing treatment-related equipment and supplies. The work involves exposure to blood and needles and may include mixing acid or bicarbonate. PCTs work under RN supervision as part of a cross-functional clinical team. DaVita offers reimbursement for the Certified Hemodialysis Technician (CHT) license and opportunities for professional advancement through a clinical ladder. Development programs include training teammates to teach clinical procedures and policies, and a tuition-funded pathway for eligible high-performing PCTs to pursue registered-nurse careers.
