About The Position

Nova Scotia Health is recruiting a Diagnostic Imaging (DI) physician to provide medical leadership for the provincial DI stewardship initiative. This role can be based out of any zone in Nova Scotia and will work collaboratively with DI leadership, providers, the Diagnostic and Therapeutics Network and the DI Stewardship Coordinator in building a sustainable, impactful provincial DI stewardship service.

Requirements

• Eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Nova Scotia (CPSNS).
• Diagnostic imaging physicians with (FRCPC) or equivalent.
• Eligibility to sit for the FRCPC exams will be considered.

Responsibilities

• Provide collaborative medical leadership in developing, implementing and monitoring provincial clinical imaging pathways, clinical decision support tools, provider education and provincial standardization that has measurable impact on DI resources, patient experiences/safety and system workflow.
• Apply national best practice standards (ie. Choosing Wisely).
• Academic opportunities for collaboratively publishing and presenting stewardship work are included in this role.
