The Diagnostic Imaging Mammography Lead is responsible for performing Mammograms accurately according to established procedures and Radiologist's special instructions. This role also involves verifying patient identity and physician orders, administering oral and IV contrast media if working in CT, and completing machine warm-up/shut down procedures. The Lead will assist with other department tasks when not performing mammograms, maintain accurate and complete records (Mammo QA, log book, daily work sheet, MEDITECH system), and bring previous exams forward for comparison by the Radiologist. They will obtain pertinent physical history on all patients/exams, practice radiation safety, and maintain a clear and orderly work area with adequate supplies. The Lead demonstrates good guest relation skills, performs radiographic and fluoroscopic procedures, and reports malfunctioning equipment to the manager. Additionally, this role is responsible for filing and maintaining records for Mammography Accreditation, maintaining patient confidentiality, assisting in the teaching of radiology students, attending department and mandatory meetings, and maintaining required CEU levels for annual certification.
