About The Position

SAP America, Inc. is hiring Development Principal Consultants at its Newtown Square, Pennsylvania location. The role creates concepts for interfaces, extensions, enhancements, and development projects, leveraging SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP) to support integration, extension, and transformation toward the Intelligent Enterprise. It covers end-to-end integration and development work across on-premise, cloud, and hybrid environments, including design, implementation, testing, customer guidance, and support for solution proposals. The position may periodically take responsibility as a team lead or sub-project lead and contribute to people development. It requires up to 20% domestic travel to customer sites. The work model is hybrid.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, plus seven years of progressive post-baccalaureate experience in the job offered or a related occupation; alternatively, a master’s degree or foreign equivalent in one of these fields plus five years of experience.
Three years of experience designing, developing, and implementing integrations with SAP BTP Integration Suite or Cloud Platform Integration and SAP innovation-area technologies, including SAP ALE, IDoc, XML, SOAP, OData, REST, JSON Web Services, ABAP Server and Client Proxies, or Remote Function Modules.
Three years of experience supporting and implementing EDI and B2B integrations and de-escalating critical integration projects through incident management and root-cause analysis with minimal business outage.
Three years of experience implementing, guiding, and supervising customer system integrators and vendors on integrations with SAP BTP and cloud solutions using SAP reference architectures, platform patterns, reusable components, and integration standards aligned with SAP’s AI strategy.
Three years of experience with SAP PI or SAP PO and migrating SAP PI dual-stack interfaces to SAP PO and SAP AEX single-stack interfaces.
Three years of experience gathering business requirements, conducting gap analysis, and translating requirements into interface technical specifications for custom integrations and SAP developments.
Three years of experience leading SAP integration testing, including interface unit, integration, regression, volume and performance, user acceptance, smoke, or beta testing.
Three years of SAP ABAP development experience enhancing standard integration functions of SAP S/4HANA and SAP ERP.
Three years of experience securing SAP inbound connections with client certificate-based authentication and implementing SAP security and TLS.
One year of experience architecting agentic systems, tool orchestration, and LLM-driven workflows for intelligent and autonomous application behaviors.
One year of experience bridging product vision and technical execution by translating AI use cases, concepts, and strategic goals into scalable, governed architectures and actionable engineering plans for complex SAP customers.
Ability to travel domestically up to 20% to customer sites.

Responsibilities

Analyze feasibility for new and changed services and interfaces.
Define integration-scenario specifications based on customer business processes.
Implement and code services and interfaces, and coach partners during implementation.
Plan and coordinate integration tests.
Review integration and development concepts in accordance with SAP’s Business Technology Platform strategy.
Support end-to-end design of integration concepts across on-premise, cloud, and hybrid environments using current methodologies.
Support solution proposals and bid management.
Periodically take responsibility as a (sub-)project lead and as team lead, supporting line managers with people development tasks.
Deliver customer workshops and training.
Address solution gaps using individual development components or integration with non-SAP components.
Advise on preferred technology trends within BTP development and support development-project design.
Ensure application of BTP standards.
Design and implement composites and applications, including integration of non-SAP components.
Design, develop, and implement integrations using SAP BTP Integration Suite or Cloud Platform Integration and relevant SAP technologies.
Support and implement EDI and B2B integrations, including de-escalation of critical integration projects through incident management and root-cause analysis while minimizing business outages.
Guide and supervise customers’ system integrators and vendors in SAP BTP and cloud-solution integrations using SAP reference architectures, platform patterns, reusable components, and standards aligned with SAP’s AI strategy.
Migrate SAP PI dual-stack interfaces to SAP PO and SAP AEX single-stack interfaces.
Gather business requirements, perform gap analysis, and translate requirements into technical specifications for custom integrations and SAP developments.
Lead integration testing, including unit, integration, regression, volume and performance, user acceptance, smoke, and beta testing.
