About The Position

Ariba, Inc. seeks multiple Development Experts at its Palo Alto, California location to define and evolve solution architecture for cloud-based procurement products in alignment with business goals, platform strategy, and customer needs. The role translates business and product requirements into technical designs, scalable architectures, and engineering models, and identifies opportunities for architecture reuse, cross-team synergies, and shared components. Development Experts collaborate with Product Owners and engineering teams to ensure technical feasibility, compliance, and release readiness. They review and guide design documents and implementation plans for alignment with architecture, security, and performance standards; mentor and coach developers and peers; monitor architecture risks; estimate technical effort for business cases; and shape product backlogs. The role also champions agile practices, architecture governance, and quality-by-design principles. The position develops, tests, deploys, delivers, and maintains applications that meet business objectives and user needs. It uses tools and programming paradigms to produce clean, maintainable, documented, efficient code and conduct code reviews. It optimizes and automates software delivery, including automated testing at multiple levels, and troubleshoots, debugs, and enhances applications to improve performance and security, resolve customer issues, identify root causes, and implement preventive actions.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field, and seven years of progressive post-baccalaureate experience in the job offered or a related occupation; alternatively, a master’s degree or foreign equivalent in one of these fields and five years of experience.
Five years of experience designing and developing enterprise-grade software applications.
Five years of experience with system architecture and scalable solutions.
Five years of experience leading complex technical projects or modules.
Five years of experience defining deliverables, timelines, and milestones.
Five years of experience managing technical risks and escalations.
Five years of experience working on high-complexity and high-volume systems.
Five years of experience delivering innovative technical solutions.
Five years of experience with test planning and automation, including unit, regression, integration, and UAT testing.
Three years of experience with SAP technologies, including SAP BTP, SAP HANA, ABAP, RAP/CAP, or Fiori.
Three years of experience with cloud, APIs, and integration.
Three years of experience with REST/OData APIs and microservices.
Three years of experience with cloud platforms including SAP BTP, AWS, and Azure.
Three years of experience with system integration patterns.
Three years of experience with DevOps and Kyma.
Three years of experience with reporting using SAP BDC or similar.

Responsibilities
