About The Position

The University Relations and Development Division at San Diego State University is seeking a Development Coordinator to provide essential administrative support, project management, and event coordination for our development teams. This role is crucial for supporting SDSU's mission of providing world-class education and fostering community growth. The position offers a collaborative environment and opportunities for career development in non-profit fundraising support and project management.

Requirements

  • Equivalent to a bachelor’s degree in a related field, or relevant education/experience substituted on a year-for-year basis.
  • Experience with Ellucian (or similar financial and biographical database).
  • Experience in performing basic prospect research and data analysis.
  • Experience in coordinating meetings and special events.
  • Experience with marketing and communications.
  • Experience in generating emails, letters, cards, invoices, etc., using mail merge functions.
  • Valid California Driver’s License or the ability to obtain one within 30 days of hire.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.

Nice To Haves

  • Minimum of four years of progressively responsible administrative support, marketing/or communications experience is preferred.
  • Experience working in higher education, the public sector, or a fundraising/development environment is preferred.
  • Experience in processing reimbursements for travel, mileage, reimbursements, payables, and procurement is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assist development teams with daily tasks and long-term objectives.
  • Schedule and arrange meetings, create agendas, and provide key meeting materials.
  • Conduct basic prospect research and support data analysis using Ellucian or similar databases.
  • Generate emails, letters, cards, and invoices using mail merge functions.
  • Work closely with internal teams to support development efforts.
  • Handle scheduling, vendor coordination, and event preparation.
