About The Position

The University of Alabama is receiving applications for a position in Advancement. Consideration is being given for both the Associate Director and Director of Development positions. With a reporting structure to the Office of Development and the Honors College Dean, this position focuses on developing major-gift prospect portfolios of potential donors, cultivating and soliciting these prospects for current, pledged and planned gifts for the Honors College.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree and two (2) years of development, fundraising, sales, communications and/or public relations experience; OR master's degree and some development, fundraising, sales, communications and/or public relations experience (for Associate Director)
• Bachelor's degree and four (4) years of development, fundraising, sales, communications and/or public relations experience; OR master's degree and two (2) years of development, fundraising, sales, communications and/or public relations experience (for Director)
• Ability to travel frequently
• Must have valid U.S. driver's license
• Must be at least 19 years of age at time of hire and have an acceptable Motor Vehicle Report that is in compliance with University policies
• Applicants under the age of 21 will have some driving restrictions
• Good public relations, oral and written communications, excellent organizational skills, and excellent interpersonal skills required
• Ability to use personal computer for word processing and standard software packages
