About The Position

We are seeking dedicated individuals to join our team and help at-risk youth build a foundation for a brighter future. As a Detention Counselor, you will work alongside the juvenile justice system, including courts, police, and service providers, to maintain a safe, secure environment for youth. Your work will be essential to a 24/7/365 operation, helping adolescents in temporary care navigate challenges and find a path forward.
Requirements
- A minimum of 60 college credits required.
- Ability to pass a company-paid physical and obtain required clearances.
- Age 21 or Above
- Current Driver's License
Nice To Haves
- Preferred experience in juvenile justice, congregate care, or youth-focused roles.
Responsibilities
- Maintain a safe, secure environment for youth.
- Work alongside the juvenile justice system, including courts, police, and service providers.
- Help adolescents in temporary care navigate challenges and find a path forward.
- Safely perform physical interventions and restraints with individuals who may weigh 200+ pounds, using approved techniques.
- Stand, walk, and respond quickly throughout the shift.
- Successfully complete and maintain certification in Adelphoi’s crisis intervention / restraint training and pass any required physical abilities assessment.
