About The Position

Teph Seal Auto Appearance is hiring an automotive detailer for its dealership detail and reconditioning operations. The detailer performs vehicle cleaning and appearance work while meeting production goals, following procedures, and maintaining quality. Compensation is piecework. The role may include additional duties assigned by management to meet operational needs.

Work is physically demanding and involves frequent bending, lifting, reaching, squatting, and getting in and out of vehicles. Work may be outdoors in varying climate conditions, and the employee will move numerous vehicles during the workday. The position requires careful inspection of work, urgency in serving customers, and adherence to uniform and grooming standards. Employment is contingent on successful drug and background screening.

Requirements

• At least 1 year of detailing experience.
• Valid driver’s license and a good driving record.
• Ability to drive both automatic and manual shift vehicles.
• Ability to learn quickly and work as part of a team.
• Ability to understand and carry out oral and written instructions.
• Care and respect when handling customers’ personal vehicles.
• Reliability, punctuality, and ability to stay on task during the shift.
• Availability to work Saturday or Sunday and holidays as needed to meet production needs.
• Ability to perform frequent bending, lifting, reaching, squatting, and repeated entry into and exit from vehicles.
• Ability to occasionally push, pull, lift, or carry up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to receive detailed oral information and communicate clearly through hearing and vision.
• Ability to distinguish small imperfections in vehicle cleaning and detailing work.
• Adherence to uniform and grooming standards.
• Successful completion of drug and background screening.

Responsibilities

• Wash vehicle exteriors using cleaning solutions.
• Wax and buff vehicles using cloths and buffing machines as needed.
• Vacuum vehicle interiors and clean upholstery and surfaces.
• Dry surfaces using air compressors and cloths, and apply preservation chemicals to protect against spots and stains.
• Use dyes, paints, and waxes to protect vehicle leather or fabric when required.
• Clean grease from engines or engine compartments when required.
• Carry out additional duties assigned by management to meet operational needs.
• Move vehicles during the workday and work with urgency to respect customers’ time.
• Inspect personal work and the work of other team members for quality and small imperfections.
• Follow uniform and grooming standards and work safely with approved cleaning products.
