About The Position

Teph Seal Auto Appearance is hiring a flat-rate Detailer to work in a detail shop at an auto dealership. The role involves driving, detailing, and cleaning vehicles, maintaining the facility, and providing courteous, responsive service to customers. Detailers are expected to help ensure high-quality service and products and address customer inquiries or complaints promptly. The Detailer performs vehicle-cleaning and reconditioning tasks, including washing exteriors, waxing and buffing, vacuuming interiors, cleaning upholstery and surfaces, drying vehicles with air compressors and cloths, and applying protective chemicals. Other tasks may include using dyes, paints, and waxes to protect vehicle materials and removing grease from engines or engine compartments. Additional duties may be assigned by management based on operational needs. This is a physically demanding position involving frequent bending, lifting, reaching, squatting, and repeatedly getting into and out of vehicles. Work may take place outdoors in varying weather conditions, and the employee will move numerous vehicles during the workday. Compensation is flat rate. Employment is contingent on successful completion of drug and background screening.

Requirements

Valid driver's license and a good driving record.
Ability to drive both automatic and manual-transmission vehicles.
Ability to learn quickly and work as part of a team.

Desire to treat customers' personal vehicles with care and respect.
Reliability, punctuality, and ability to stay on task during the shift.
Availability to work Saturdays or Sundays and holidays as needed to meet production needs.
Ability to perform physically demanding work, including occasional pushing, pulling, lifting, or carrying up to 50 pounds.
Ability to distinguish small imperfections in vehicle-cleaning work and maintain clarity of vision and hearing.
Ability to receive detailed information through oral communication.
Successful completion of drug and background screening as a condition of employment.

Responsibilities

Drive, detail, and clean vehicles.
Maintain the facility to support high-quality service.
Wash vehicle exteriors using cleaning solutions.
Wax and buff vehicles using cloths and buffing machines as needed.
Vacuum vehicle interiors and clean upholstery and surfaces.
Dry surfaces using air compressors and cloths, and apply protective chemicals to prevent spots and stains.
Use dyes, paints, and waxes to protect vehicle leather or fabric when required.
Clean grease from engines or engine compartments when required.
Respond courteously and promptly to customer inquiries or complaints and help ensure customer satisfaction.
Inspect personal work and the work of other team members for quality.
Move vehicles during the workday and perform additional duties assigned by management.
Follow uniform and grooming standards and work with urgency to respect customers' time.
