About The Position
Teph Seal Auto Appearance is hiring detailers for its flat-rate detail shop in Spartanburg, South Carolina. Detailers drive, detail, and clean vehicles while helping maintain the facility and providing courteous, timely service to customers. The role involves washing and drying vehicle exteriors, waxing and buffing, vacuuming and cleaning interiors, applying preservation products, and potentially cleaning engines or using dyes, paints, and waxes to protect vehicle materials. Employees may also inspect their own work and that of teammates, follow uniform and grooming standards, and take on additional duties assigned by management. The work is physically demanding, may take place outdoors in varying weather, and involves moving vehicles throughout the workday. Compensation is flat rate. Teph Seal describes itself as a privately held company operating detail and reconditioning centers at auto dealerships across the United States.
Requirements
- Valid driver's license and good driving record.
- Ability to learn quickly.
- Ability to work as part of a team.
- Ability to read and comprehend instructions.
- Treat customers' personal vehicles with care and respect.
- Be punctual and stay on task during the shift.
- Ability to drive both automatic and manual transmission vehicles.
- Availability to work Saturdays or Sundays and holidays as needed to meet production needs.
- Successful completion of drug and background screening is a condition of employment.

- Some experience for Detail Specialist 1.
- Two or more years of experience for Detail Specialist 2.
Responsibilities
- Maintain store facilities to support high-quality service.
- Provide courteous customer service and respond to customer inquiries or complaints in a timely manner.
- Drive, detail, and clean vehicles.
- Wash vehicle exteriors using cleaning solutions.
- Wax and buff vehicles using cloths and buffing machines as needed.
- Vacuum vehicle interiors and clean upholstery and surfaces.
- Dry vehicle surfaces using air compressors and cloths, and apply preservation chemicals.
- Use dyes, paints, and waxes to protect vehicle leather or fabric when required.
- Clean and remove grease from engines or engine compartments when required.
- Move vehicles during the workday.
- Inspect the quality of own work and that of other team members.
- Follow uniform and grooming standards and carry out additional duties assigned by management.
