About The Position

Don's Ford of Utica is hiring a full-time, on-site Detailer in Utica, New York. The Detailer welcomes and assists customers, prepares vehicles arriving for service, cleans and restores vehicle interiors, exteriors, engines, and engine compartments, and applies vehicle protection packages. The role includes retrieving customer vehicles, inspecting completed repairs before delivery, maintaining the parking lot and an organized work area, following safety measures, and reporting safety or quality concerns to management. The position reports to the Service Manager and includes Saturdays. Estimated annual compensation is $40,000 plus; actual pay may vary based on experience, job-related knowledge, and physical location.

Requirements

At least 2 years of experience.
High school graduate or equivalent.
Must be at least 18 years old.
Valid driver's license in the state of residence and an acceptable driving record.
Ability to drive cars, SUVs, and trucks with manual and automatic transmissions.

Responsibilities

Greet and welcome customers and assist them promptly.
Install disposable seat covers, steering wheel covers, and floor mats in vehicles arriving for service.
Clean vehicle exteriors and interiors, including engines and engine compartments.
Inspect vehicles for noticeable defects and restore the appearance of engine areas, rugs, upholstery, and painted surfaces.
Prepare and apply vehicle protection packages.
Complete work assignments according to applicable safety measures.
Restore vehicles to new or like-new condition to the best of your ability.
Retrieve customer vehicles from the parking lot after customers pay their bills.
Review repairs before delivering vehicles to customers, and bring any issues with the work performed to a supervisor's attention.
Maintain the parking lot and keep the work area clean and organized.
Report situations or conditions that jeopardize the safety, welfare, or integrity of the dealership, its employees, or customers.
Maintain a valid local-area driver's license and immediately inform management of changes to its status.
