About The Position

A bilingual introductory class, where students learn to draw from observation using live models and other subjects. Using traditional media such as sketchpads, markers and charcoal, and/or tablets and electronic drawing applications, students will practice eye-hand coordination while learning basics about proportions, composition, the illusion of depth and space, human anatomy, light and shadow and various drawing techniques. Passive competence in French are essential as the class is bilingual. This course will be offered in-person.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in Visual Arts or equivalent.
  • Established reputation and exhibition record in painting, drawing, and contemporary art.
  • Teaching experience at the post-secondary level.
  • A working understanding of the University of Ottawa's online classroom BrightSpace.
  • Passive competence in French.
  • Passive competence in English.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in digital drawing.
