The Desktop Support Analyst is a dual administrative and technical support position that is the first point of contact for end-users seeking technical assistance. Employees in this classification function as a liaison to the Information Services (IS) Division and in-house staff, the public, vendors, and governmental offices, to identify and respond to all incoming client needs. The technical work involves responding to or distributing IS service requests and providing office-wide end-user technical support either in-person, over the phone, or through the use of remote desktop tools. The administrative work includes maintaining an accurate IS asset inventory, aiding with application testing, user feedback, and usernames/passwords, responding to website and IS Support inquiries, and aiding in the procurement process including budgeting, purchase order requests, and receipt of purchased items. A technical supervisor provides direction and supervision.
