Design System Engineer

Retool is seeking engineers with technical leadership experience in design systems to join their design systems team. As a member of this team, you will be responsible for driving systematic improvements in code quality, increasing accessibility, and supporting a visual refresh of Retool. Your role will involve collaborating with multiple teams to create high-quality interfaces and enhancing engineering efficiency in product development. Additionally, you will have the opportunity to mentor fellow engineers, engage in technical decision-making, and contribute to the growth of the team.

• Drive systematic improvements in code quality across Retool's codebase
• Increase accessibility for users with assistive technologies
• Support a comprehensive visual refresh of Retool

• Coordinate closely with the design team, product managers, and other engineering leaders working on design systems

• Build within the JavaScript and TypeScript, Node.js, and React environment
• Engage in technical decision-making with the team
