About The Position

The Design Sales Specialist/Home Stylist inspires customers to express themselves at home and helps bring their shopping experience to a seamless close, including completing sales at the cash wrap. The role promotes ongoing customer engagement and connection with the West Elm brand. Using design expertise, the specialist consults with customers in-store and in their homes, assesses living spaces, develops design plans, supports sales goals, and provides product knowledge and service across the design studio assortment. The position is full time in Sarasota for a new store opening.

Requirements

Strong communication, clienteling, and customer follow-up skills.
Ability to complete and coordinate complex large orders across a variety of sales channels.
Proven ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
1–2 years of customer service and retail sales experience; specialty retail experience is preferred but not required.
Ability to remain mobile on the sales floor for extended periods.
Ability to lift and mobilize items up to 75 pounds using appropriate equipment and safety techniques.
Full-time associates are expected to have open availability to meet business needs.

Responsibilities

Conduct one-on-one design consultations in the store and in customers’ homes to support sales.
Conduct productive in-home consultations, accurately measuring and assessing customers’ living spaces.
Create and present design plans tailored to customers’ needs, style, preferences, and living spaces.
Maintain knowledge of current sales and promotions to achieve and exceed sales and productivity goals.
Assist customers with special services, including gift wrap, gift registry, locating merchandise, catalog and internet orders, special orders, back orders, charge sends, courier deliveries, and furniture orders.
Demonstrate strong product knowledge, including features and benefits across the design studio assortment.
Complete sales at the cash wrap and encourage continued customer engagement with the brand.
