About The Position
The MedServ Group is seeking a Dermatology Nurse Practitioner to provide care to residents in skilled nursing facilities, with a focus on delivering quality healthcare to elderly patients. The role involves one visit per month and typically includes 7–8 hours of patient visits and paperwork, seeing approximately 20–25 patients per visit. The usual schedule is 9 AM–5 PM. Compensation is $35–$40 per patient or $60–$65 per hour. The MedServ Group covers medical malpractice insurance.
Requirements
- Hold a CNP/Certified Nurse Practitioner license.
- Graduate from a state-registered Nurse Practitioner program or be certified as a Nurse Practitioner by a national association.
- Have dermatology experience in a clinic, hospital, or nursing home.
- Have a Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (D.O.), Doctor of Medicine (M.D.), or Nurse Practitioner (N.P.) qualification specializing in Dermatology from an approved university.
- Have experience using diagnostic techniques to identify diseases and implement appropriate treatments.
- Have experience managing a diverse staff and client base.
- Be able to communicate important health information effectively and compassionately.
- Have good interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate well with elderly patients.
- Hold Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) or Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
- Have a DEA registration.
Responsibilities
- Perform physical exams and observe patients.
- Record patients’ medical histories and symptoms.
- Create patient care plans and contribute to existing plans.
- Order, administer, and analyze diagnostic tests.
- Monitor and operate medical equipment as needed.
- Diagnose health issues and communicate them to the physician on call.
- Administer medications and other treatments.
