About The Position
The MedServ Group is seeking a part-time Dermatology Nurse Practitioner to provide care to residents in Skilled Nursing Facilities. The role focuses on delivering high-quality care to elderly patients using strong clinical and interpersonal skills. Visits are listed as monthly, typically involving 20–25 patients and 7–8 hours of patient visits plus paperwork. The typical schedule is 9 AM–5 PM. Compensation is $35–$40 per patient or $60–$65 per hour. The MedServ Group covers medical malpractice insurance.
Requirements
- Hold a CNP/Certified Nurse Practitioner license.
- Graduate from a state-registered Nurse Practitioner program or be certified as a Nurse Practitioner by a national association.
- Have dermatology experience in a clinic, hospital, or nursing home.
- Hold an M.D. or D.O. degree, or be an N.P. specializing in Dermatology from an approved university.
- Have experience using diagnostic techniques to identify diseases and implement appropriate treatments.
- Have experience managing a diverse staff and client base.
- Communicate important health information effectively and compassionately.
- Have good interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate well with elderly patients.
- Hold Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) or Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
- Have a DEA registration.
Responsibilities
- Perform physical examinations and observe patients.
- Record patients’ medical histories and symptoms.
- Create patient care plans and contribute to existing plans.
- Order, administer, and analyze diagnostic tests.
- Monitor and operate medical equipment as needed.
- Diagnose health issues and communicate them to the physician on call.
- Administer medications and other treatments.
