About The Position
The MedServ Group is seeking a Dermatology Nurse Practitioner to provide care to residents in skilled nursing facilities. The role focuses on delivering high-quality care to elderly patients and calls for a confident, compassionate practitioner with strong clinical and interpersonal skills. This is a part-time position with one visit monthly. Each visit typically involves 20–25 patients and 7–8 hours of patient visits plus paperwork. The schedule is typically 9 AM–5 PM. Compensation is $35–$40 per patient or $60–$65 per hour. The MedServ Group covers medical malpractice insurance.
Requirements
- Hold a CNP/Certified Nurse Practitioner license.
- Graduate from a state-registered Nurse Practitioner Program or be certified as a Nurse Practitioner by a National Association.
- Have dermatologist experience in a clinic, hospital, or nursing home.
- Be a Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (D.O.), Doctor of Medicine (M.D.), or Nurse Practitioner (N.P.) specializing in Dermatology from an approved university.
- Have experience using diagnostic techniques to identify diseases and implement appropriate treatments.
- Have experience managing a diverse staff and client base.
- Communicate important health information effectively and compassionately.
- Have good interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate well with elderly patients.
- Hold Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) or Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
- Have a DEA registration.
Responsibilities
- Perform physical exams and observe patients.
- Record patients’ medical histories and symptoms.
- Create patient care plans and contribute to existing care plans.
- Order, administer, and analyze diagnostic tests.
- Monitor and operate medical equipment as needed.
- Diagnose health issues and share them with the physician on call.
- Administer medication and other treatments.
