About The Position

The Deputy CFO & Financial Controller will be responsible for overseeing all accounting operations, financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, internal controls, and treasury management. This role involves leading and developing finance and accounting personnel, collaborating with executive leadership on strategic initiatives, and supporting various business projects. The position requires strong analytical skills and the ability to manage financial risks and optimize financial operations.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, or a related field
  • Several years of professional experience in financial controlling, financial analysis, or a similar role
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Experience with budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting
  • Fluent English and German skills (written and spoken)
  • Strong proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel

Nice To Haves

  • Spanish skills are an advantage
  • Experience with ERP/financial systems is preferred

Responsibilities

  • Direct and oversee all accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, fixed assets, and tax accounting.
  • Ensure timely and accurate preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
  • Manage statutory reporting and compliance with relevant accounting standards.
  • Lead the month-end and year-end closing processes.
  • Monitor financial performance and provide analysis to executive management.
  • Lead the annual budgeting process and periodic financial forecasting.
  • Analyze variances between actual and budgeted performance.
  • Develop financial models to support business planning and investment decisions.
  • Provide financial insights to improve profitability and operational efficiency.
  • Design, implement, and maintain effective internal control systems.
  • Ensure compliance with financial regulations, tax requirements, and company policies.
  • Manage relationships with external auditors, tax advisors, and regulatory authorities.
  • Oversee risk management processes relating to financial operations.
  • Monitor cash flow, liquidity, and working capital requirements.
  • Optimize treasury operations and banking relationships.
  • Support capital management and financing activities.
  • Ensure effective management of financial risks.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop finance and accounting personnel.
  • Collaborate with executive leadership on strategic initiatives.
  • Present financial results and recommendations to senior management and the board.
  • Support mergers, acquisitions, system implementations, and business transformation projects as required.
