About The Position
The Key Carrier Specialist directs front-end staff and operations when the Assistant Center Store Manager is absent. The role ensures front-end customer service, performance, productivity, and compliance, and is responsible for front-end and parking lot conditions. The specialist directs team members in the Front-End (Checkers and Service Specialists) and Center Store departments, handles cash procedures, and promotes customer service. The position directs and trains Front-End associates to support The Save Mart Companies’ mission and winning behaviors, ensures standards are met during the assigned shift, and performs the store balancing function.
Requirements
- Minimum age of 18 years.
- Good communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Good training skills.
- Strong supervision and coordination skills.
- Good counting and math skills.
- Ability to read and write to accurately complete documentation.
- Knowledge of front-end operations and check-stand procedures.
- Knowledge of compliance and basic applicable contract/work rules.
- High school diploma or GED, or additional job experience.
- One year of prior work experience, including at least six months of grocery or retail experience.
- Availability to work a variety of required retail hours.
Responsibilities
- Demonstrate, train, and hold store associates accountable for excellent customer service.
- Manage front-end performance and productivity, including till over/shorts, check collection, WIC and EBT compliance, bottom-of-basket checks, receipt savings, items checked per minute, and front-end efficiency.
- Lead Clerks and Clerk’s Helpers, with a focus on accountability and business performance.
- Maintain front-end and parking lot conditions, including check-stand merchandising, floors, cleanliness, shopping carts, and bags.
- Perform the store balancing (bookkeeping) function.
- Perform front-end management functions, including refunds and returns, loans and pick-ups, and check authorization.
- Monitor the customer experience at the front end.
- Occasionally maintain total store operations in the absence of store management.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
