About The Position

The Key Carrier Specialist directs front-end staff and operations when the Assistant Center Store Manager is absent. The role is responsible for customer service, performance, productivity, compliance, cash handling, store balancing, and the condition of the front end and parking lot. The specialist directs and trains Front-End associates and team members in the Center Store departments, ensuring department and front-end standards are met during the assigned shift. The role may occasionally maintain total store operations in the absence of store management.

Requirements

Minimum age of 18 years.
Good communication and interpersonal abilities.
Good training skills.
Strong supervision and coordination skills.
Good counting and math skills.
Ability to read and write to accurately complete documentation.
Knowledge of front-end operations and check-stand procedures.
Knowledge of compliance and basic applicable contract/work rules.
High school diploma or GED, or additional job experience.
One year of prior work experience, including at least six months of grocery or retail experience.
Availability to work a variety of required retail hours.
Ability to sit, stand, walk, kneel, stoop, use stairs, reach, pull, and lift objects in a store environment; lifting up to 40 pounds is required.

Responsibilities

Demonstrate, train, and hold store associates accountable for excellent customer service.
Manage front-end performance and productivity, including till balancing, check collection, cash over/short, WIC and EBT compliance, bottom-of-basket checks, receipt savings, items checked per minute, front-end efficiency, and Three’s A Crowd.
Directly lead Clerks and Clerk’s Helpers, emphasizing accountability and strong business performance in the assigned area.
Ensure front-end and parking lot conditions meet standards, including check-stand merchandising, floors, cleanliness, shopping carts, and bags.
Perform the store balancing (bookkeeping) function.
Perform front-end management functions, including refunds and returns, loans and pick-ups, and check authorization.
Monitor the customer experience at the front end.
Occasionally maintain total store operations in the absence of store management.
Perform other duties as assigned.
