About The Position

Onboarded is hiring a Deployment Strategist to own up to three partner ecosystems from partnership signing through steady state. The role is accountable for moving partner customers live, growing ecosystem revenue, and enabling partners to handle an increasing share of selling, implementing, and supporting Onboarded. The Deployment Strategist works across partner executives and teams, Onboarded’s Sales, Customer Engineering, Product, and Engineering groups, and operates autonomously against ecosystem outcomes. The role joins partnership deals before they close to plan how partners will sell, implement, and support Onboarded. After signing, the strategist trains partner sales, customer success, implementation, and support teams; creates enablement materials and launch playbooks; leads early customer launches; and turns issues and fixes into repeatable processes. Once the partner can run most implementations independently, the strategist hands the ecosystem to Customer Engineering and moves to another ecosystem. The Deployment Strategist also architects how each partnership fits together, deciding what should be built and by whom. This includes designing integrations with partner engineering teams, covering REST APIs and MCP surfaces, data flows, and workflow ownership; reviewing partner designs; and identifying potential scale or reliability issues before implementation. The strategist translates partner needs into requirements and user stories, prioritizes requests, tests shipped work, and maintains a written point of view on each ecosystem’s ideal customer, adoption barriers, constraints, and investment needs. This is a new role whose initial hires will establish the playbook for growing Onboarded’s partner ecosystems. The position is intended for a product-minded builder who can use AI tools as a force multiplier, design systems, earn trust across technical and executive audiences, and teach partners to operate independently. It is not a support-queue role or a pure quota-carrying sales position.

Requirements

  • At least 4 years of experience in partner solutions, solutions architecture, solutions engineering, product, or implementation leadership at a software company, or at least 2 years in a builder or founder role at a startup.
  • Experience enabling a channel, launching an integration program, or growing adoption within another organization’s customer base.
  • Ability to design integrations end to end, including APIs, webhooks, authentication, data models, and keeping records synchronized across systems.
  • Experience working with another company’s engineering team to explain how to build on a product and critically review its design.
  • Ability to whiteboard systems and identify failure points before implementation; production coding is not required.
  • Ability to use AI tools as a force multiplier; described as non-negotiable.
  • Experience training another company’s sales or implementation team and assessing whether they can operate independently afterward.
  • Ability to communicate with partner product and partnership leaders as well as implementation teams.
  • Product-oriented judgment to clarify partner needs, write crisp requirements, prioritize requests, and decline inappropriate requests.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience as a solutions architect or partner architect.
  • Experience in staffing, ATS or HRIS software, or employment compliance, including I-9, E-Verify, background checks, or tax forms.
  • Experience at an AI or data company.

  • Train partner sales, customer success, implementation, and support teams; build enablement kits and launch playbooks; and work with Customer Engineering to certify front-line support.
  • Lead early partner customer launches, identify and resolve problems, and convert fixes into repeatable processes that make subsequent launches faster and less dependent on Onboarded.
  • Hand ecosystems to Customer Engineering when partners can run most implementations independently.
  • Architect partnership integrations and decide what should be built, why, and whether Onboarded engineers, partner engineers, or both should build it.
  • Design integrations with partner engineering teams, including use of Onboarded REST API and MCP surfaces, data movement, and workflow boundaries.
  • Review partner designs and identify issues that could cause failures at scale.
  • Translate partner requests into requirements and user stories, prioritize work, and test shipped product changes.
  • Maintain a written point of view on each ecosystem, including ideal customers, adoption barriers, constraints, next-phase needs, and whether to invest further, hold steady, or stop.
