About The Position

The Special Taxes Division is seeking a dynamic leader to serve as the Departmental Manager for the Motor Fuel and International Fuel Tax Agreement (IFTA) Units. This area handles all customer interactions, including phone, written inquiries, and correspondence, and processes incoming forms, tax returns, and license applications. The manager will be a recognized resource for tax matters within the Division, collaborate with other Treasury work areas on projects and problem-solving, and monitor business processes and policies to identify and resolve issues.

Requirements

Possession of a bachelor's degree in any major.
Four years of professional experience (post bachelor's degree).
Two years of experience equivalent to the experienced (P11) level or one year equivalent to the advanced (12) level.
Work must be performed in the state of Michigan.
Secure, safe, and appropriate designated workspace that allows privacy and prevents distractions.
Secure and sufficient internet access of commercial cable or wireless broadband with minimum speeds of 25 Mbps download and 5 Mbps upload (for remote work).
Must pass a fingerprint-based background check per IRS Publication 1075.
