About The Position

The Department Lead oversees the efficient and effective operations of an assigned department at Rural King. The role manages inventory, recovery, price changes, planogram and feature implementations, department cleanliness, and adherence to indoor merchandising and signing standards. The Department Lead also assists customers, supports front-end transactions or loadouts as needed, operates retail equipment, and participates in cross-training and learning initiatives. The position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Requirements

• At least 2 years of retail experience with knowledge of the specific department.

• Ability to use a ladder and/or pallet jack and to navigate and access all facilities.
• Ability to communicate verbally with others in person and via electronic devices.
• Close vision for computer-related tasks.

Responsibilities

• Follow the indoor merchandising guide and maintain consistent department and signing standards and appealing displays.
• Monitor inventory levels through stock counts, scanning outs, reconciling discrepancies, and replenishing products from the stockroom or top stock.
• Oversee department recovery to maintain a neat, organized, and visually appealing shopping area.
• Coordinate and execute price changes, including updating labels and signage with relevant teams.
• Implement playbook features and planogram sets according to company guidelines and standards.
• Maintain department cleanliness and orderliness and follow sanitation and safety protocols.
• Provide customer service by answering inquiries, locating products, and addressing concerns.
• Support the front end by processing transactions or loadouts as required.
• Use general office equipment, including a telephone, copy machine, fax machine, calculator, and computer.
• Operate handheld devices, forklifts, pallet jacks, ladders, and other retail equipment.
• Participate in cross-training across departments and responsibilities.
• Participate in learning initiatives such as training programs, workshops, and webinars.
• Provide friendly, proactive, and professional support to internal and external customers and colleagues.
