About The Position

The Department Lead plays a pivotal role in ensuring the efficient and effective operation of an assigned department at Rural King Farm and Home Store. The role oversees inventory management, scanning outs, recovery, price changes, planogram sets, department cleanliness, and adherence to the indoor merchandising guide. The Department Lead also provides customer service, supports front-end transactions or loadouts as needed, uses office and retail equipment, and participates in cross-training and learning initiatives. The role has no supervisory responsibilities.

Requirements

• At least 2 years of retail experience with knowledge of the specific department.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to the indoor merchandising guide and maintain consistent department and signing standards and appealing displays.
• Monitor and maintain accurate inventory through stock counts, scanning outs, reconciling discrepancies, and replenishing inventory from the stockroom or top stock.
• Oversee department recovery to maintain a neat, organized, and visually appealing environment.
• Coordinate and execute price changes, including updating pricing labels and signage with relevant teams.
• Implement playbook features and planogram sets according to company guidelines and standards.
• Maintain department cleanliness and orderliness and enforce sanitation and safety protocols.
• Provide customer service using the customer engagement model, assisting with inquiries, locating products, and addressing concerns.
• Support the front end by processing transactions or loadouts as required.
• Use general office equipment, including a telephone, copy machine, fax machine, calculator, and computer.
• Operate handheld devices, forklifts, pallet jacks, ladders, and other retail equipment.
• Participate in cross-training for flexibility across departments and responsibilities.
• Participate in training programs, workshops, webinars, and other learning initiatives.
• Provide friendly, proactive, and professional internal and external support, responding promptly and effectively to inquiries, concerns, and issues.
