About The Position

The Department Lead oversees the efficient and effective operations of an assigned department at Rural King. The role includes inventory management, scanning outs, recovery, price changes, planogram and playbook feature implementations, cleanliness, and adherence to indoor merchandising and signing standards. The Department Lead supports customers using the customer engagement model, assists at the front end when needed, and helps maintain a safe, organized, and appealing shopping environment. The position also involves cross-training, participating in learning initiatives, providing professional support to others, and demonstrating Rural King’s values. No supervisory responsibilities are assigned.

Requirements

• At least 2 years of retail experience with knowledge of the specific department.

• Ability to communicate verbally with others in person and via electronic devices.
• Close vision for computer-related tasks.

Responsibilities

• Follow the indoor merchandising guide to maintain consistent department and signing standards and appealing displays.
• Monitor inventory by conducting stock counts, scanning outs, reconciling discrepancies, and replenishing inventory from the stockroom or top stock.
• Oversee department recovery to maintain a neat, organized, and visually appealing area.
• Coordinate and execute price changes, including updating pricing labels and signage with relevant teams.
• Implement playbook features and planogram sets according to company guidelines and standards.
• Maintain department cleanliness and orderliness and enforce sanitation and safety protocols.
• Provide customer service by answering inquiries, locating products, and addressing concerns.
• Support the front end by processing transactions or loadouts as required.
• Use general office equipment, including a telephone, copy machine, fax machine, calculator, and computer.
• Operate handheld devices, forklifts, pallet jacks, ladders, and other retail equipment.
• Participate in cross-training across departments and responsibilities.
• Participate in training programs, workshops, webinars, and other learning initiatives.
• Provide friendly, proactive, and professional internal and external support, responding to inquiries, concerns, and issues.
