About The Position

The Department Lead plays a pivotal role in the efficient and effective operation of an assigned department at Rural King. The role oversees inventory and stock replenishment, department recovery and cleanliness, price changes, planogram and playbook feature implementation, and compliance with indoor merchandising and signing standards. The Department Lead also provides customer service, supports front-end transactions or loadouts as needed, uses general office and retail equipment, and participates in cross-training and learning initiatives. The position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Requirements

At least 2 years of retail experience, with knowledge of the specific department.

Ability to use a ladder and/or pallet jack and navigate and access all facilities.
Ability to communicate verbally in person and via electronic devices.
Close vision for computer-related tasks.

Responsibilities

Follow the indoor merchandising guide to maintain consistent department and signing standards and appealing displays.
Monitor inventory by conducting stock counts, scanning outs, reconciling discrepancies, and replenishing inventory from the stockroom or top stock.
Oversee department recovery to maintain a neat, organized, and visually appealing area.
Coordinate and execute price changes, updating pricing labels and signage as required.
Implement playbook features and planogram sets according to company guidelines and standards.
Maintain department cleanliness and orderliness and enforce sanitation and safety protocols.
Provide customer service by answering inquiries, locating products, and addressing concerns.
Support the front end by processing transactions or loadouts as required.
Use general office equipment, including a telephone, copy machine, fax machine, calculator, and computer.
Operate handheld devices, forklifts, pallet jacks, ladders, and other retail equipment.
Participate in cross-training for flexibility across departments and responsibilities.
Participate in learning initiatives such as training programs, workshops, and webinars.
Provide friendly, proactive, and professional internal and external support, responding to inquiries, concerns, and issues.
