Traveling Dentist – Nursing Home Care
About The Position
Aria Care Partners is seeking a skilled and compassionate Mobile Dentist to provide dental care to residents in skilled nursing facilities. The dentist travels to different facilities, typically 20 minutes to two hours away, and is compensated for both driving and clinic time. This part-time position is scheduled for two days per week, with flexibility to work with the clinician’s schedule and a minimum daily pay guarantee. The dentist assesses residents’ dental health, addresses oral health concerns, develops and discusses treatment plans, performs limited procedures, and conducts oral cancer screenings. The clinical operations team manages coordination, including scheduling and billing, allowing clinicians to focus on patient care. Aria Care Partners provides onsite dental, vision, hearing, and podiatry care to residents of long-term care and skilled nursing facilities. Its mission is to enrich residents’ quality of life with passion and compassion.
Responsibilities
- Assess dental health and address dental concerns for residents in skilled nursing facilities.
- Develop and discuss treatment plans to manage, improve, and treat dental and oral health issues.
- Perform simple procedures, including exams, fillings, extractions, and denture-related services.
- Order diagnostic measures, such as x-rays.
- Apply helpful agents to teeth, such as silver diamine fluoride, to arrest decay.
- Conduct oral cancer screenings.
- Maintain accurate dental records.
- Communicate with facilities and families to ensure patients have appropriate support for successful daily oral hygiene.
