Requirements

• Graduation from an approved school of dentistry. Applicants will be considered to have met the educational requirements once they are within three months of graduating with a qualifying degree.
• Possess a license to practice dentistry issued by the Pennsylvania State Board of Dentistry.
• Successful completion of basic training in Elizabethtown, PA is required.
• Must be able to perform essential job functions.
• Must pass a background investigation and meet Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) compliance requirements.

Responsibilities

• Perform examinations, review medical histories, diagnose oral conditions, and prepare treatment plans
• Provide restorative and preventative care while maintaining infection control and safe use of anesthetics
• Guide dental assistants and dental hygienists by offering training, reviewing work, and supporting hiring decisions
• Examine schedules, records, and requests to ensure quality standards, and prepare required documentation
• Maintain supplies, approve replacement needs, and uphold security and tool control requirements
• Consult with medical professionals, assist specialists, and arrange referrals when needed
