About The Position

The Smilist is seeking a reliable, friendly, and motivated Patient Coordinator to support exceptional patient care in a warm, welcoming, and professional dental office environment. The role is based in Massapequa Park, New York, and is full-time, Monday through Friday, with no weekends. Compensation is $24.00–$26.00 per hour. The Patient Coordinator helps patients navigate their dental visits, supports front-office operations, and collaborates with the clinical team to keep the daily schedule running efficiently.

Requirements

• Previous experience as a dental or medical receptionist.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to multitask, prioritize responsibilities, and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• Friendly, professional, and patient-focused attitude.

• Comfort discussing appointment scheduling, insurance information, and patient payments.

Responsibilities

• Welcome patients and create a warm, positive first impression.
• Answer incoming calls, direct inquiries, relay messages, and communicate professionally with patients and team members.
• Coordinate patient check-in by verifying patient information, confirming insurance details, and keeping records accurate and up to date.
• Collect patient payments, clearly communicate balances, and assist with front-office financial transactions.
• Maintain accurate administrative records and support efficient daily front-office operations.
• Help coordinate appointments, encourage patients to schedule recommended follow-up care, and minimize gaps in the schedule.
• Communicate patient arrivals promptly and collaborate with the dental team to keep the daily schedule running efficiently.
• Help patients navigate dental visits, answer routine questions, and create an experience that encourages continued care.
