Dental Hygienist ( Pediatric Experience Preferred )
About The Position
Pediatric Dentistry of Avenue U is seeking a compassionate, skilled, and energetic Dental Hygienist to provide care for children and families at its Brooklyn, NY practice. The role focuses on preventive dental care, oral health education, and helping children develop healthy habits in a welcoming, kid-friendly environment. The hygienist will work collaboratively with dentists, assistants, and front office staff, with occasional front desk support as needed. Occasional travel to other offices within a reasonable distance may be requested. This is a part-time position scheduled two days per week, Wednesdays and Fridays, from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with some flexibility available. Pay is $58–$62 per hour, based on experience.
Requirements
- Associate's degree in Dental Hygiene.
- Valid New York State Dental Hygienist License.
- Excellent communication and patient rapport skills.
- Team-oriented with a cheerful, professional attitude.
Nice To Haves
- Pediatric dental experience.
- CPR certification.
Responsibilities
- Perform routine cleanings, fluoride treatments, and apply sealants.
- Conduct oral health assessments and screenings.
- Educate children and families on proper oral hygiene and preventive care.
- Accurately record patient medical and dental histories.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and kid-friendly clinical environment.
- Collaborate with dentists, assistants, and front office staff.
- Provide occasional front desk support as needed.
