About The Position

Pediatric Dentistry of Avenue U is hiring a compassionate, skilled, and energetic Dental Hygienist to care for children and families at its Brooklyn, NY practice. The role is part-time, two days per week on Wednesdays and Fridays, from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with some schedule flexibility. Occasional travel to other offices within a reasonable distance may be requested.

The hygienist performs preventive dental care, assesses oral health, and educates children and families about oral hygiene. The role also includes maintaining a safe, clean, child-friendly clinical environment, collaborating with the dental and front office teams, and providing occasional front desk support. Requirements

• Associate's degree in Dental Hygiene.
• Valid New York State Dental Hygienist License.
• Excellent communication and patient rapport skills.
• Team-oriented approach and a cheerful, professional attitude.

Nice To Haves

• Pediatric dental experience.
• CPR certification.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine cleanings and fluoride treatments, and apply sealants.
• Conduct oral health assessments and screenings.
• Educate children and families on proper oral hygiene and preventive care.
• Accurately record patient medical and dental histories.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and kid-friendly clinical environment.
• Collaborate with dentists, assistants, and front office staff.
• Provide occasional front desk support as needed.
