About The Position

The Smilist is seeking a reliable, friendly, and motivated Dental Assistant to support orthodontic care and provide high-quality patient experiences in a warm, welcoming, and professional environment. The role requires working at the Brick, Toms River, Lacey, Jackson, and Englishtown locations. This is a full-time position paying $26.00–$30.00 per hour. The Dental Assistant helps prepare patients and treatment rooms, assists doctors and hygienists during procedures, maintains infection-control and safety standards, and supports a smooth patient experience. Prior orthodontics experience and an active New Jersey x-ray license are required.

Requirements

Proven experience as a Dental Assistant.
Active New Jersey x-ray license.
Prior orthodontics experience.
Knowledge of dental instruments, equipment, procedures, and infection control protocols.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a patient-focused approach.
Ability to work collaboratively with doctors and other team members in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Positive attitude, dependability, and willingness to learn and grow professionally.

Nice To Haves

Dentrix experience is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

Help patients feel comfortable and confident during dental visits by addressing their concerns and reinforcing trust in their doctor or hygienist.
Prepare patients for treatment and assist doctors and hygienists during dental procedures.
Maintain a clean, organized, and sterile clinical environment.
Escort patients to and from the front desk and help ensure a smooth patient experience.
Prepare and organize instrument trays and treatment rooms for scheduled procedures.
Monitor operatory supplies, maintain inventory, and assist with ordering and restocking.
Follow infection control, sterilization, and office safety protocols.
Perform additional duties as assigned by management.
