About The Position

Dental Health Associates (DHA), a locally owned, doctor-led dental practice, is hiring a full-time Orthodontic Assistant. The role supports Dr. Ammar Alsamawi and includes travel between the Fitchburg and Gammon locations on a rotating schedule. The position is four days per week, with a consistent weekly day off and a predictable schedule. DHA describes its culture as supportive and focused on recognizing employees’ contributions and providing trusted dental and orthodontic care to the Madison community.

Requirements

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Attention to detail and commitment to excellent patient care.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
• High school diploma or equivalent.

Nice To Haves

• Previous orthodontic or general dental assistant experience.
• Familiarity with orthodontic procedures, terminology, and equipment.
• Completion of a dental assistant program; preferred but not mandatory.
• CPR/First Aid certification.

Responsibilities

• Assist orthodontists during procedures while supporting patient comfort and efficiency.
• Prepare, sterilize, and maintain orthodontic instruments and equipment.
• Take dental x-rays and impressions in accordance with safety protocols.
• Educate patients about orthodontic care, including retainer use and proper oral hygiene.
• Maintain accurate patient records and assist with scheduling appointments.
• Provide excellent care and communication to foster a positive patient experience.
