About The Position

Leading Edge Oral Surgery is seeking a motivated Dental Assistant with prior dental assisting experience or a special interest in oral surgery. The role supports the Oral Surgeon and helps provide patients with a comfortable, confident experience in a modern practice using advanced technology. The position is at Eastern Long Island Oral Surgery in Center Moriches, New York. A $3,500 welcoming bonus is offered to the right fit. The listed salary range is $22–$27 per hour.

The hiring schedule is Monday through Thursday, 8:30 a.m.–5:00 p.m., and Friday, 8:30 a.m.–1:00 p.m. Benefits are available at full-time employment of 30 or more hours per week; some benefits may also be available to part-time employees.

Requirements

• Prior dental assisting experience.
• Any certification or license required by the state to perform specified duties.

Responsibilities

• Welcome patients and help them feel comfortable and confident throughout their visit.
• Support the Oral Surgeon with various procedures.
• Take digital radiographs, CBCT images, and intra-oral scans as prescribed.
• Prepare and sterilize instruments and equipment in accordance with infection-control requirements.
• Sanitize and prepare operatories for treatments.
• Follow OSHA and safety policies.
• Educate patients on effective oral hygiene strategies as needed.
• Undertake other office tasks as needed to support practice operations.
