About The Position

Hy-Vee is seeking a personable, enthusiastic Demonstrator who enjoys customer service and working as part of a team. Demonstrators prepare and present product samples, answer customer questions, and make suggestions to help shoppers discover products and learn how to prepare or use them. This is a retail store role with shifts on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. The anticipated starting wage is $13.00 to $16.25 per hour, depending on experience. Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a pre-employment drug screen.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent experience.
Ability to follow detailed written or verbal instructions and work through tasks with a few concrete variables.
Ability to perform simple addition and subtraction, copy figures, and count and record accurately.
Ability to engage confidently with customers, offer helpful advice, and make product recommendations in a friendly, professional manner.
Less than six months of similar or related work experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

Provide prompt, friendly customer service and make customer interactions positive.
Prepare products for sampling and offer samples to customers throughout the shift.
Answer questions about products and explain products, including suggestions for preparation and use.
Organize demonstration items and ensure adequate supplies are available.
Stock demonstration supplies and keep the work area clean and organized.
Follow proper sanitation procedures.
Answer telephone calls promptly and provide helpful customer service.
Work with co-workers to support customer satisfaction and a pleasant work environment.
Assist in other store areas and take on special projects as assigned.
Follow personal hygiene and dress standards, Hy-Vee policies, and store guidelines.
Report to work as scheduled and on time.
