About The Position

Hy-Vee is seeking a personable, enthusiastic Demonstrator to bring products to life for customers. The role involves preparing and presenting product demonstrations, offering samples, answering questions, and making suggestions that help customers discover products. Demonstrators provide friendly customer service and contribute to a pleasant shopping experience and work environment. This is a fast-paced retail store role. The employee is on their feet throughout the shift and has daily exposure to dirt and noise, with occasional potential for electrical hazards. Safety training is provided. Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a pre-employment drug screen.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent experience required.
Ability to follow detailed written or verbal instructions and work through tasks with a few concrete variables.
Ability to perform simple addition and subtraction, copy figures, and count and record accurately.
Ability to engage confidently with customers, offer helpful advice, and make product recommendations in a friendly, professional manner.

Nice To Haves

Less than six months of similar or related work experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Greet customers warmly and provide prompt, friendly service, aiming to make every interaction positive.
Prepare products for sampling and offer samples to customers throughout the shift.
Answer customer questions about products, explain them, and suggest ways to prepare or use them.
Organize demonstration items and ensure adequate supplies are available.
Stock demonstration supplies and keep the work area clean and organized.
Follow proper sanitation procedures throughout the shift.
Answer the telephone promptly and provide helpful service to callers.
Work with co-workers as a team to support customer satisfaction and a pleasant work environment.
Assist in other store areas and take on special projects as assigned.
Follow personal hygiene and dress standards, Hy-Vee policies, and store guidelines.
Report to work as scheduled and on time.
