Medical Courier Part-Time (Fri,Sat,Sun)
About The Position
Quest Diagnostics is hiring a part-time Medical Courier in Bakersfield, California. The position works three days per week: Friday from 2:30 PM to 7:30 PM, and Saturday and Sunday from 1:00 PM to 9:30 PM. The courier transports medical specimens and laboratory materials along a scheduled route, helping ensure diagnostic services reach patients accurately and on time. The role operates independently in a mobile setting and involves interacting professionally with doctors, nurses, and laboratory staff. The courier uses a company-provided non-CDL vehicle, handheld scanners, route software, and mobile apps. The role requires proper specimen handling, labeling, storage, and documentation, as well as compliance with DOT, HIPAA, OSHA, and internal safety standards. The position pays $21.00–$25.00 per hour; a shift differential may apply for some or all hours worked on second or third shift. Annual performance bonus compensation may also be available. Requirements
- Valid driver's license.
- At least 3 years of driving experience.
- Motor Vehicle Record with no more than two moving violation convictions in the previous 36 months and none in the most recent 12 months.
- Strong customer service and communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail and reliable documentation skills.
- Ability to work independently and problem-solve on the road.
- Comfort using mobile devices or scanning tools.
- Ability to lift up to 30 lbs. and be on the move for much of the shift.
Nice To Haves
- Prior medical, customer service, courier, or logistics experience is strongly preferred.
Responsibilities
