Delivery System Support

Gardner White Furniture•Auburn Hills, MI

About The Position

A delivery assistant supports a quick and efficient load-out process by using STORIS to manage inventory movements. The role runs daily reports for delivery managers to support monitoring and coaching, and monitors delivery trucks in real time to ensure delivery issues are resolved promptly. The position also supports delivery route administration, DOT file follow-up, customer communication and resolution, order corrections, and load-out tasks. This position has no supervisory responsibilities, but may provide guidance to drivers and helpers to improve efficiency. Work takes place in a warehouse and dock environment, where temperatures vary by season and the dock may be poorly insulated because dock doors are open during load out. Office space may occasionally be available. The employee spends most of the day seated at a desk doing computer work, with some walking in the warehouse. They may occasionally need to lift or move products to tag merchandise. Shifts may vary according to business needs. Once a route is assigned, the employee is expected to work until its final delivery is completed, and overtime may be required.
