About The Position

The Delivery Expert delivers products by car within a designated delivery area and to customers’ doors. The role also performs general store-team duties, which may include operating equipment, stocking ingredients, preparing products, taking and processing telephone orders, taking inventory and completing paperwork, and cleaning equipment and the facility. On-the-job orientation and training are provided. The position offers a flexible schedule and opportunities for advancement, including into management.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Must have a valid driver’s license and a safe driving record meeting company standards.
• Must have access to an insured vehicle that can be used for deliveries.
• Must be able to read maps, locate addresses in the designated delivery area, and navigate adverse terrain, including multi-story buildings.
• Must be able to understand and give written instructions and communicate verbally with customers and coworkers, in person and by telephone.
• Must be able to perform basic arithmetic accurately and quickly, make correct monetary change, and enter orders using a computer keyboard or touch screen.
• Must have the motor coordination to make precise movements quickly and accurately.
• Must be able to work alone and with others, perform repetitive tasks, work under stress, meet quality standards, and make judgments and decisions.
• Must be able to meet the physical demands of the position, including standing, walking, lifting and carrying items up to 50 pounds, pushing or pulling trays on dollies, climbing stairs, bending, crouching, and reaching.
• Must be able to work around varying temperatures, weather, food odors, cornmeal dust, cramped spaces, hot surfaces and tools, sharp edges, and moving mechanical parts.
• Must have the vision and hearing abilities described for the role, including far and night vision for driving and the ability to talk and hear on the telephone.

Responsibilities

• Deliver products by car within the designated delivery area and to customers’ doors; carry products to delivery locations, including navigating stairs and other terrain.
• Deliver flyers and door hangers.
• Operate store equipment and stock ingredients from delivery areas into storage, work areas, and the walk-in cooler.
• Prepare products and receive and process telephone orders.
• Take inventory and complete associated paperwork.
• Clean equipment and the facility.
• Use maps or other navigational skills to locate addresses within the delivery area.
• Perform other general store-team tasks as needed.
